Condition: overall good, there are two very small chips and adjacent short cracks on the item. Please check the close-up photos for this two minor issues.

A lovely antique ceramic toast rack by Susie Cooper, marked "A Susie Cooper Production, Crown Works, Burslem, England" to the base. Five graduated slots in a cream earthenware body with a soft sea-green wash at the tips and along the base rim, and a hand-painted floral spray (tulip and leaf motif in pink, yellow, green, and lavender) decorating the front.

Susie Cooper was one of the most celebrated British ceramic designers of the 20th century, known for her clean Art Deco shapes and hand-painted florals. This piece was produced at the Wood & Sons Crown Works in Burslem, Staffordshire, where she ran her studio from the early 1930s.

A charming and useful piece for a vintage-styled breakfast table, or lovely displayed on its own as part of a collection.
